Gyeong (경) is traditionally described as the raw ore — decisive, dutiful, and unafraid of friction — a strong-willed doer with a sharp sense of justice. Gap (갑), by contrast, is traditionally read as the tall tree — upright, principled, and growth-driven — a natural leader with strong convictions, and a dislike of bending.
Gyeong (경)'s element (Metal) is traditionally read as restraining Gap (갑)'s element (Wood) — the "controlling" relationship in Five Element theory, the same cycle behind wood parting earth or metal cutting wood.
This tendency doesn't mean conflict is guaranteed — many traditional readings frame a controlling relationship as one partner grounding or focusing the other's energy in a useful way.
